Filming: Opening Scene

 Today was our first day of filming! We started the first scene. We really wanted it to be perfect because it is such an important part of our storyline. We set on filming at Parkers house. It did take longer than expected to decide on where the scene would be set. We ended up settling on her kitchen table. Parker is the main actor for our video so she was the main focus today. Maria made the fake test papers and Parker worked out her costume. While this was going on, I decided how to film. After a few practice runs, I learned that I needed a higher vantage point for the angle we wanted. We wanted a slow zoom out on the subject so we could see her and the failed test. While Parker and Maria helped work on her looking defeated, I found the right angles. Finally after the preparation we were able to film. We zoomed out from Parkers head, looking defeated. Then we zoomed back into her head after she had decidedly fallen asleep on top of the test. These did take quite a few takes because it was hard for us not to laugh. Finally we got it without any bumps. We all watched the multiple clips we had and agreed on the best one. After we shared the clips with each other so we can all work on the editing process when the video is all together. It was a very successful first day of filming and it couldn't have gone better.
