Editing Blog
Over the course of the past few days I have been helping Parker edit. She is really good with iMovie, so she definitely took the reins over these past few days. When we sat filmed on the 17th, it went really well. Because we had to re film all of the parts with Violet in them, we had new footage to comb through. We looked through the many clips and found the best of each one. After that Parker loaded them all into iMovie and began the tedious editing. Since the volume and shot of almost every clip were good and clear, there wasn't a whole lot to do. The main thing she ended up doing was cutting the few seconds off the end and beginning of each clip. This would make the whole thing flow a lot smoother. It just took a very long time. Even though the job itself is simple, it was easy to mess up the small things. Sometimes Parker would cut the audio too short. Then when I watched it I'd have to tell her so she could go back and fix it. Because iMovie has an undo button, fixing the mistakes was easy. It was easy for us to become paranoid though. After we were sure the start and cutoff of the clips were perfect, we set out to fix the audio. Almost every clip had a clear audio, with good angles. There were just a few where we had to adjust. Sometimes the wind was too loud so you couldn't hear Dara and Parker talking. So we adjusted the value on their voices for an easy fix. Even though it took a little while, the whole process was relatively simple, and we made a lot of progress.
